Tamz is a graphic designer known for clean, high-quality visual work and strong organizational support, handling design, calendar coordination, and travel logistics for the team. She brings creativity and thoughtful execution to both design projects and operational tasks.

COMMUNITY IMPACT & PARTNERSHIP DIRECTOR

James Burks

Nonprofit leader and community engagement strategist with 10+ years of experience expanding equitable opportunities for underserved youth and families. His work spans workforce development and partnership development. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University and a Master of Social Work from Temple University.

April Burks

Founder & CEO of Pink Social Strategies

PSS is owned and operated by April Burks.  She is a graduate of St. Joseph's University and was born and raised in Philadelphia. April has a decade of event planning experience in various arenas from personal celebrations to music festivals.  She currently resides in Philadelphia with her husband, James. She loves to cook, garden, host dinner parties and spend time with her friends and family.  She is a founding member of the Young Friends of Episcopal Community Services, a non-profit that thrives to fight inter-generational poverty.  She is also a proud member of Moles Inc, a prominent national organization for African American women.

Lead Event Producer

Jocelyn DeGroot-Lutzner has been assisting April with event production since 2019 and is happy to be an integral team member with Pink Social Strategies. She is a graduate of The New School in New York City and was born and raised in Philadelphia, where she currently resides. She is an avid budget traveler, thrifter and interior designer. She is an Airbnb Super Host and has been hosting since 2013. She is the co-founder of Pentridge Station Beer Garden in West Philadelphia, and strives to create inclusive spaces to uplift her community and its members.
